Strong entries across the board for upcoming RNAS Spring Show

The annual Royal Northern Spring Show held in conjunction with Aberdeen and Northern Marts has announced entries for all sections.

This year the event will take place on Wednesday 25th February at Thainstone Centre, Inverurie, marking the first major event in the agricultural calendar.  

The Show and Sale of Pedigree Bulls and Females, kindly sponsored by Northlink Ferries and judged by David Barclay, Tullo of Garvock, Laurencekirk, has attracted 61 Bulls and 4 Females. Entries include 13 Charolais bulls, 25 Limousin bulls, 16 Simmental bulls, 4 Aberdeen-Angus bulls, 3 British Blue bulls and 4 Limousin Females.

In the Show and Sale of Exhibition Cattle, supported by sponsor JDW Agri, Andy Ireland, Braeside, Darvel, Ayrshire is set to judge the 35 entries.  

John Angus, Director of Livestock at Aberdeen & Northern Marts said: “We are pleased to see a strong entry forward for the Show and Sale of Pedigree Bulls and Exhibition Cattle, as well as all other sections. This highly anticipated event provides an excellent opportunity for buyers to source top-quality stock from renowned breeders across Scotland.”

Moving on to the other sections, the Carcass Cattle, kindly supported by GP Smart & Son, has attracted a top class entry this year, with 70 cattle forward for judging.

The equine section, generously supported by Donview Vets, has once again been well supported, with an impressive total of 142 entries forward for the event.

In the sheep section, sponsored by Caledonia Farm Vets, 22 breeding sheep are set to be judged, and the Cereals, Roots, Silage and Hay, SWI and Young Farmers sections, have once again been well supported.

RNAS Secretary, Fiona Davidson said: “With the countdown to the show well underway, we’re delighted to see strong entries across all sections, and together with 110 agricultural trade stands, it promises to be another fantastic event.”
