Top-quality calves forward for Thainstone Spectacular

The Thainstone Spectacular Show and Sale of Show Calves, kindly sponsored by Blackadder’s Solicitors returns on Friday 21st August, kicking off the busy Autumn sales.
This year’s event has attracted a strong entry, with 40 top-quality calves forward for the Show & Sale. Judging this year’s entries is well-known stockman Stephen Taylor, Ochilmount, Bannockburn, Stirling, with judging commencing at 9.30am, followed by the sale at 2.30pm, or immediately after the store cattle.
Scott Chapman, Auctioneer at Aberdeen & Northern Marts, said: “We have a top-quality draw of entries forward for the Show and Sale, featuring many of this year’s prize winners from the agricultural show circuit.
A huge thank you to Blackadder’s Solicitors for their continued support of the event and we are looking forward to welcoming everyone to Thainstone on Friday.”
At last year’s event, J Robertson & Son, Newton of Logierait, Pitlochry topped the sale of Exhibition Cattle at £8,500 with their Limousin cross heifer scalling 495kgs.
Entries are also now open for the Young Farmers Overwintering Competition, very kindly sponsored by Miller Plant. Young farmers can purchase stock directly from the Spectacular Show and Sale, with entries closing in November. Early participation is encouraged to secure the best animals.
