Final livestock entries confirmed ahead of annual RNAS Spring Show

The annual Royal Northern Spring Show held in conjunction with Aberdeen and Northern Marts has today announced the judge and confirmed entries for the upcoming show and sale of Exhibition Cattle. The event will take place on Wednesday 28th February at Thainstone Centre, Inverurie with exhibitors and spectators set to attend the first major event in the agricultural calendar.

In the Exhibition Cattle section supported by new sponsor JDW Agri, James Nisbet, Sorn Mains, Ayrshire will be set to judge 45 entries including, 15 bullocks and 30 heifers. James brings with him a wealth of industry knowledge, running his family business Nisbets butcher alongside the family farm in Ayrshire for over 30 years. Following the show, the sale will take place live and online from 2:30pm. In 2023, the top price of £5,000 was paid for a 382kg British Blue Cross Heifer from J Robertson & Co Newton of Logierait.

2023 Exhibition Cattle Top Price

Andrew Anderson from Duffus is set to judge the Pedigree Bulls section, kindly supported by new sponsor Northlink Ferries, which has attracted a substantial entry of 104 bulls and females. In 2023, the top price of 13,000gns was achieved for the for a 25-month-old Charolais bull from Messrs N A Wattie, Mains of Tonley, Alford.
