As the New Year rolls in, Aberdeen & Northern Marts, are gearing up for the annual Anniversary Show and Sale of Store Cattle, kindly sponsored by local hauliers Thomsons of Sauchen, which is to be held at Thainstone Centre, on Friday 5^th January 2024. The show will commence from 8:30am, followed by the sale at 10am with the presentation of prizes taking place at 12 noon.

Around 1,200 cattle consigned from throughout the region and as far as the Orkney Isles, will be presented to a busy ringside of buyers. Judging the pre-sale show at the prestigious event is Mr Craig Allison, who runs a beef finishing unit at Ovenstone Farm, Forfar. No stranger to the Thainstone ringside, Craig has a keen eye for quality cattle and brings with him a wealth of industry knowledge.

A strong trading period for finished cattle, has seen store cattle prices soar in recent months and we fully expect to see a strong trade for all classes.
